Trapper Creek Fireweed Arts Council
I know it's only January, there's a bunch of snow on the ground...but somewhere under all that are the slumbering roots of the Fireweed flowers! This year's 4th annual Fireweed Festival is going to be a BLAST! It is scheduled for July 25 and 26 at the Community Center Park at mile 115.2....an event for the whole family to enjoy!
This will be the second year to make this a two day event! Last year we had two full days of music, a children's art activity tent, wonderful food and many, very creative craft booths. The musicians entertain us as their donation...they don't ask for any money!!! This year we will have all that AND activities going on for all ages to participate in.
If you are feeling generous and want to help....a small donation will go a long way in our endeavor! We will be posting meeting notices in the post office, T.C. library and the DMV as the time draws near....we could really use your help pulling the year's festival together! If you are interested in having a booth, you can call Debbie Filter at 733-7377.
Last year, some of the money we raised from the Fireweed Festival went toward 6 - 3/4 size guitars for the T.C. Elementary school children to learn how to play. We are now in the second year for guitar lessons with the children! Currently, in the art endeavor of our council's goals a quilting class is ongoing for anyone that wants to join in. For quilting class information contact Jane Shaw at 733-2378.
Remember, our goal, as the Fireweed Arts Council, is to encourage and promote art and music creativity, awareness and talent in our communities youth and adults alike! We would love to hear from you! Assistance and advice are always a wonderful thing!
